Welcome to Fudan, Shanghai

History of FERM:

FERM is a series of conferences focusing on new developments of financial engineering and risk management. The first FERM Symposium was successfully held at the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Studies of University of Sciences and Technology of China on July 3 and 4, 2005. Since then, the series has grown into a great gathering of academic researchers and industry practitioners to exchange state-of-art knowledge and discoveries in financial engineering and risk management, and discuss the recent financial crisis, recent research interests and current industry trends. It produces fusion among academic researchers and industry practitioners and provides an excellent educational opportunity for the students.

Jianqing Fan of Princeton University was instrumental in initiating the series and is continually supporting the symposium series. Jianqing and all organizers of FERM series have successfully invited many distinguished speakers including Nobel prize winners Robert Engel (2003) and Lars Hansen (2013). The FERM series has attracted many young researchers and students to participate in the symposiums.
